Cardinal summer athletic camps
The Â鶹´«Ã½ State Cardinals Athletic Department will host summer basketball and volleyball camps beginning in June. A men's basketball team camp for varsity and junior varsity players will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 3. Registration fee is $100 for one team or $150 for two teams. Contact Deddric Tarver, Cardinals head coach and camp director, at 205-368-2353 by May 24 to register.
A youth basketball camp for boys and girls in grades 2 through 6 will be held from 8 a.m. to noon June 24 and 25. Registration fee is $50 per camper to attend both camp dates or $30 per camper to attend one day. Contact Kori Walker, assistant basketball coach, at 205-410-6825 or Coach Tarver to register by June 21.
Volleyball team camp play dates are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 22 and 23 for varsity players. Registration fee is $100 per team to attend either date. A skills camp for high school juniors and seniors will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 24. The skills camp is intended for athletes who are interested in playing at the college level and is limited to the first 25 who register. Registration fee is $75 per camper. For play dates scheduling purposes, participants must contact Connie Clark, Cardinals volleyball coach and camp director, at 256-490-2261 by July 1 to register.
