Âé¶¹´«Ã½ State’s Griffin named ACCC Player of the Week
Âé¶¹´«Ã½, Ala. — The Alabama Community College Conference announced on Oct. 2 that the Player of the Week in cross country is Lane Griffin from Âé¶¹´«Ã½.
Griffin finished 13th out of 42 runners in the Mountainside Stride held Sept. 30 in Chattanooga. His 8K time was 27:56, which was a full minute improvement from the previous race on Sept. 15.
“Lane has a remarkable talent for distance running,” said Roseanne Green, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ State’s cross country coach. “His talent combined with his dedication to the sport and leadership skills make him a natural team leader.”
Griffin, who graduated from Fort Payne High School, was Âé¶¹´«Ã½ State’s No. 1 finisher in the Mountainside Stride. Ashton Vann, the College’s No. 2 finisher, came in 21st with a 29:49 followed by Jonah Medders rounding out the Top 3 among Âé¶¹´«Ã½ State runners at 32nd with a 33:02.
